Gents, we are not discussing 'Jayanti' here, rather we are mad about 'Biswas'. Let's leave these earthly disputes and share the joy of 'Jayanti' here.

Trip experiences need not be similar to everyone and it happens that same set of things may be acceptable to somebody while it may leave others upset. It is only natural. It happened in our group of 3 /4 families when we visited Jayanti. After much motoring in the forest, not a single animal could be sighted. Our local guide was viewed as incapable. Fortunately, the guide through his contacts could get news about movement of a herd of elephants & we were lucky to end the day with a brilliant encounter with this herd. A vigil during night time in a village adjoining the forest area was planned. It was a wonderful starlit night but the darkness upset some of the ladies of our group & we had to pull back. Being a soft target, it was the guide and not us, who sanctioned the trip on his suggestion, was criticised. The bigger boat of the forest department was under repair and the guide opined against taking any other boat for the sikiajhora trip on the grounds of safety. It was a disappointment. However, through all this, I did not fail to notice that Mr Bidyut Biswas, our local guide, was full of new ideas, eager to travel that extra length to provide satisfaction to our group, had good contacts and the fees for the time he spent with us was unprofessionally moderate. With deepest respect to diverse opinions, I look forward to further visits to Jayanti and experience the ingenuous tour plans which Mr Bidyut Biswas or any other similar guide may be having for us. However, I need to do this only with like minded people. This need not be viewed as guidance to others, only personal experiences have been stated for explaining my initial statements.
Details of other people & capable guides mentioned in some of the posts could have been provided to help the tourists of Jayanti region.

That’s very nice to see some people who knows Mr. Bidyut Biswas personally, started following this post. That things will bring some more hits in this page.

I don’t know this “Biswas” personally, and don’t want to be know him personally. Because, I don’t want to visit Jayanti 4-5 or 6 times. But, my first experience with Jayanti is memorable due to the Scenic Beauty of that place and off course due to mismanagement of Bidyut Biswas. His arrangement was least professional.

May be Mr. Alok & Debarshi had a Great Experience with Mr. Biswas. But, I had really bad experience with Bidyut Biswas.

After following this comment Mr. Biwas was called me to post a comment after Mr. Pramanick’s comment. But, as a nature & travel lover I can’t help a Travel Agent who don’t know how to manage a trip.

I can write over here all details, what kind of experience we had with him. But, really don’t want to be so rude.

Thanks!

I saw this post today and I was surprise to see the comment of Mr. Pramanik. I know Bidyut Biswas personally and he is not only a guide and never behave like a guide but he is our Friend, philosopher and very good guide and I can assure all the tourist that they can contact him and visit Dooars and all other parts of North Bengal without any doubt.
I Visited 4 times and he really organized everything systematically and we visited 2 times with our family and he is the best person I ever meet as Guide.
sometimes things not happen according to our expectation but we have to understand the situation and he has good knowledge on this area like Sikiajhora and I can assure all the tourists that plz visit this place and you will get Amazon adventure type experience
So,Please ignore all the negative remarks against him and if you need any other information about him then let me know.

Thanks.

I had different experience with Mr Bidyut Biswas. I collected his reference from the net where many people suggested his name for Dooars Tour.
We visited Dooars recently. We three families (10 persons) started from Kalipur (Gorumara) followed by Jaldapara, Chilapata, Jayanti and Coochbehar. The tour was "simply superb".
We contacted Mr Bidyut Biswas from Kolkata and he arranged the vehicle (which was all along with us) and accommodation. The Tour was excellent and without any hassle. Mr Biswas took us to a place called "shikiajhora" where we had a boat ride- a lifetime memorable experience.
He was mostly with us during the tour and made it a memorable one.

I have seen some of you referring Mr. Bidyut Biswas for Buxa & Jayanti trip. I want to add something from my personal experiences.

We (3person) had a Jayanti trip on last week end. We had got the reference of Bidyut Biswas from one of the web site. And we had a package tour with him. We have got the enough bad experience with him. He never did any arrangements as per his commitment, he is good sales man but not a good tour operator.

It's just a information to all who is thinking about Dooars Trip. Thanks god finally we had a good trip and credit goes to some local people and guides. :)

MY PERSONAL OPINION IS AVOID THIS GUY )Bidyut Biswas).
